Thy Kingdom Come 2020 Banner I
Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus.

Whether you have joined in ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ before or not, we invite you to take part this year – along with churches from over 65 different denominations in 178 countries around the world.

There are so many different ways to get involved. Here are some suggestions:

1. Pray for 5

Pray every day for 5 friends and family, neighbours and colleagues, that they might come to faith in Jesus. There are some creative ideas and prayers here: PRAY FOR 5

2. Thy Kingdom Come journal

Each day there is a passage from the Bible, a short reflection, a prayer, and a suggestion for action. You can view the journal on the website or download your own copy: THY KINGDOM COME JOURNAL Those in our parish who have received material in the post from us (such as the parish magazine) over the last few months can expect a copy of the journal to arrive (Royal Mail-willing) by 21 May.

3. Novena

Each day there is a picture, a short reflection, a prayer, and a suggestion for action: NOVENA

5. Prayer walk

While taking your daily walk, pray for those in the houses, businesses etc that you pass. If you are self-isolating, you could use a map of the area or the newspaper to guide your prayers.

6. Listen on your Smart Speaker

From Thursday 21 May (Ascension Day) you can get Alexa and Google Home to “Ask the Church of England for today’s Thy Kingdom Come” to hear a short service of Prayer during the Day (before 7.00pm) and Night Prayer (after 7.00pm) throughout the 11 days.
