Meditation and Mindfulness

March 2020: Although St Andrew's has had to close and our services and activities have been suspended, we remain Here with you and Here for you.

Mindfulness - a rough guide for tough times

Mindfulness is a very helpful way of bringing us into a deeper awareness of the present moment. It can be helpful in dealing with stress or anxiety. Until our fortnightly sessions resume, you may wish to try this at home - a rough guide for tough times.

Twice a month on Wednesdays, 8pm at St Andrew's Church
Refreshments served between 7.30 - 7.55pm

Explore the riches of Christian meditation and how it fits with the
practice and insights of mindfulness.

Each session is free and lasts for about 45 minutes. We meet in
St Andrew’s and begin with some gentle exercises to help still the mind,
then a guided meditation followed by a time of silence. There is no need
to sign up in advance, just come along. Beginners are especially welcome!

A contemplation
Be silent
Be still
Alone, empty before God
Say nothing
Ask nothing
Be silent
Be still
Alone, empty before God
That is all
He knows
He understands
He loves you
with an enormous love
He just wants to look upon you
with his love
So silent and still be
Let God love you
